What is your idea of DETOX?
To me, it’s internal cleansing to help the body more efficiently eliminate toxins and waste. Detox recipes and drinks are not new to us. My mother used to take warm water with honey every morning since the time even before I was born.
But to be frank, What I feel it is impossible to completely detox your body as a lot of people think you can.
DO WE NEED A DETOX PLAN?
Humans are an amazing creation of God and our bodies are perfectly capable to remove the toxin from our body. The reason we need a DETOX plan is to support the natural detoxification pathways.
7 HACKS TO DETOX RIGHT IN YOUR KITCHEN
1) RAW HONEY WITH WARM WATER
The enzymes and antioxidants present in honey helps to keep our digestive system happy and is a major element in losing weight. Just “ a spoonful hack” I would call, mix a spoonful of honey with warm water and have it in an empty stomach once you wake up
2) CINNAMON INFUSED WATER
An amazing spice that not only makes our dishes taste nice but also has powerful health benefits that could convince you otherwise. Highly rich in antioxidants, Cinnamon improves the insulin secretion, stabilizes the blood sugar levels and increase the glucose metabolism – all these are key effects for losing weight. DIRECTION– In a large saucepan infuse 2-3 cinnamon sticks overnight and take it in the morning. you can even pair it with honey.
3) LEMON WATER WITH HONEY
Lemons have got natural cleansing properties that help tokick-start your body natural detox function, but also to nourish your cells with vitamins (especially vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant and anti-age ally). DIRECTION– Having a Squeeze of half a lemon with the hot water first thing in the morning will blast your body with a dose of vitamin C. You can also have a jar of lemon infused water to sip on throughout the day.
4) TURMERIC WATER
This amazing Indian spice quite popular in every Indian kitchen, but lesser known spice that is effective for detox and weight loss. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and it is a very strong antioxidant. Can you imagine what kind of powerful potion you will get if you only add turmeric in lemon water? Not only it offers a different taste, but it adds numerous other health benefits as well. DIRECTION– 1/2 A tea spoon of turmeric with warm lemon water is all you need to have in the morning.
For TURMERIC TEA, Boil a cup of water, turn off the heat, drop in few loose tea or green tea leaf, add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and a generous squeeze of lime. Relish with a tsp of honey.
5) CUMIN AND FENNEL WATER ( JEERA- SAUNF)
Cumin and fennel are quite popularly known spices. They help aiding in digestion, reduce bloating, detoxing, and aids in weight loss. DIRECTION– 10 mins for a batch of detox water for the whole day. Boil 5-8 cups of water in a saucepan, add 2 tsp of cumin seeds and 2 tsp fennel seeds. Turn off the heat and cover with a lid immediately. Let it infuse for 10 mins. Strain and store it in a jar with 2-3 tbsp of lemon juice.
6) APPLE CIDER VINEGAR WATER
Popularly called ACV water, is recommended for all detox and cleansing. One has to be sure that it is unfiltered or unpasteurized and organic, contains ” mother of vinegar”. Apple cider vinegar is full of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes in its raw form. DIRECTION– For warm ACV water take one or two teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of warm in the morning to help with digestion.
7) GINGER HONEY WATER
It helps with indigestion, acid reflux, bloating, and gas. Helps hydrate and give your immune system a gentle boost to fend off common winter ailments.DIRECTION– Boil few slices of ginger and let it sit for 10 minutes. Strain the water and mix 1-2 Tsp of honey. You can add a pinch of loose tea in the hot ginger water and a squeeze of lime for a perfect Honey- lemon- ginger tea.
Above all, if one has a healthy functioning liver and Kidneys, your body will take care of you naturally. So eat sensible, keep yourself hydrated, sleep well are keys to a healthy person.
